SYSTEM FOR MANAGING NON-UNIFORM MEMORY ACCESS AT THE NODE INTERCONNECT ARCHITECTURE

PURPOSE: A system is provided to dramatically reduce the waiting time of the communication transaction by allowing the communication transaction to happen as a processing node at the interconnect architecture. CONSTITUTION: An NUMA computer system(8) includes a plurality of processing nodes which are interconnected by the interconnect architecture(22).The processing node(10a-10d) includes system memory(8), L1 cash(14a-14d) and the node controller(20) which are combined to the local interconnect architecture. The node controller snoops the related interconnect architecture and allows the local communication transaction to be easily transmitted to the processing node. Furthermore the node controller masters the related communication transaction. The communication of the local interconnect architecture(16) us controlled by the arbiter(24). The arbiter controls the access to the local interconnect architecture on the basis of bus signal and compiles the response corresponding to the snooped communication transaction.
