PURPOSE: A method for hydrogenation of the hydroformylated mixture is provided, which converts aldehydes and formates being a by-product into the desired alcohols and is carried out in relatively mild conditions, particularly at low pressure. CONSTITUTION: The reaction mixture obtained from the hydroformylation of olefin of C5-24 is hydrogenated by evaporating aldehydes, alcohols, formates and low-boilers among the mixture, passing the resultant of steam phase through Cu/Cr catalyst, and hydrogenating it by using a hydrogen catalyst of stationary phase at the elevated temperature. Preferably the entrained droplet of high-boilers is separated from the upstream of the evaporated aldehydes, alcohols, formates and low-boilers by using a demister (5). The Cu/Cr catalyst comprises 25-40 wt% of Cu and 18-30 wt% of Cr based on the weight of oxides. Preferably the hydrogenation is carried out at a temperature of 150-250°C and at a pressure of 1-25 bar. |
