<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven power steering device so formed that the whole of the device further in a compact manner as well as a single pinion suffices for operation of the device and improved in loading ability. SOLUTION: The rotation force of an electric motor M is transmitted from an output shaft 3 to a reduction mechanism 11 through a transmission mechanism, and the output of the reduction mechanism 11 is transmitted to a steering rod. In a so formed motor-drive power steering device, the output shaft 3 is extended through a hollow motor shaft 15 and rotatably supported. The reduction mechanism 11 comprises an offset shaft 24 fixed on the end part of the motor shaft 15, an eccentric part 24b situated eccentrically from the axis of the motor shaft 15, an eccentric gear 26 arranged on the outer periphery of the eccentric part 24b through a bearing; a gear part 27 formed on an outer periphery of an eccentric gear 26, and a ring gear 29 making contact with the gear part 27 at one point on a circumference. The transmission mechanism is arranged between the inner periphery of a hollow part arranged at the inner side of the gear part 27 of the eccentric gear 24 and the outer periphery of the output shaft 3.</p> |
