PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for passenger conveyor provided with a function capable of changing a speed at which steps are driven without attaching and detaching an existing control part. SOLUTION: A first control part 5 controlling the start and stop operations of a drive device 2 driving a plurality of steps is provided in a frame 1, and a second control part 6 controlling a speed of the drive device 2 is provided. Consequently, the start and stop operations of the drive device 2 are controlled by the first control part 5, and a speed of the drive device 2 is controlled by the second control part 6 to change a speed of steps. Moreover, since the second control part 6 is provided on a rear surface of a floor plate 3 covering an upper part of a machine room 1a, a space can be utilized effectively, and the second control part 6 can be simply taken out of the frame 1 by removing the floor plate 3 at the time of maintenance. At this time, it is unnecessary to remove connection cables 12, 13.
