PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of detecting a sheet even if an interval between sheets is brought close to zero. SOLUTION: A guide guiding a sheet fed from a sheet feeding part consists of an upper guide 25 and a lower guide 26, a stepped part 26a for deviating positions of a rear end of a sheet conveyed previously and a tip of a sheet conveyed next among the sheets fed continuously is formed on the lower guide 26, and a sensor 23 for detecting an end part of the sheet deviated by the stepped part 26a is provided.
