PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the heat retaining force of pot lids for heat retaining cooking and render it adjustable, and widen the range in shape and size of ordinary or unspecialized pots that can corporate with them. SOLUTION: A pot lid 1 comprises a concavely curved inner lid part 1b mounted with a first inner-lid knob 1bk1 at the upper surface center and a second inner-lid knob 1bk2 at the lower surface center, and a convexly curved outer lid part 1a mounted with an outer-lid knob 1ak at the upper surface center. For heat retaining cooking, the inner lid part 1b is placed along the upper edge of a pot 3 before the outer lid part 1a is placed on the inner lid part 1b to form a variable heat insulting part 1cv of an air layer between both lid parts 1a and 1b. The heat insulating function of the variable heat insulting part 1cv is adjustable via a change in thickness resulting from an inversion of the inner lid part 1b.
