PURPOSE: Bicyclic heteroaromatic compounds, methods for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in medicine are provided which are useful in treating cancer and psoriasis. CONSTITUTION: Bicyclic heteroaromatic compounds, and in particular substituted heteroaromatic compounds of formula(I) wherein one ring is pyridine and pyrimidine are described. Also described are methods for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in medicine. And a biological bioisostere of quinoline and quinoline derivatives seems to inhibit a protein tyrosine kinase. In formula, X is N or CH; Y is W(CH2)W or W(W is O, S(O)m(m is 0, 1 or 2) or NR¬a(¬a is H or C1-8 alkyl), R1 is 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring selected from N, O or S(O)m.
