PURPOSE: A liquid panel is provided in a shutter unit of the field sequenced color display device and driving voltage is reduced so that the cost of the device is reduced. Also, in order to use the device even in low temperature, the using range of the device according to temperature is expanded. CONSTITUTION: Lighting time of the light source(1) is delayed for the open-to close response time of the shutter unit, Therefore, the degradation of the color purity is suppressed with low voltage. According to the temperature detected from temperature detecting part(12), temperature compensation circuit(11) change time to be delayed by delay circuit(7) so that high quality signal is obtained.
