PURPOSE: A method of making a color filter accurately corrects a coloration condition in consideration of a distribution influence of each aperture area of a black matrix, and does not have irregularity. CONSTITUTION: A color filter has a black matrix with apertures on a substrate and a pixelobtained by coloring the apertures. A method for making the color filter corrects a coloring condition of the color filter on the basis of a distribution of the aperture area. The distribution of the each aperture area includes a distribution of each aperture area of a reference color filter. The coloring condition is corrected to make even optical effect of each pixel when the aperture areas are constant. The distribution of each aperture area is obtained by the aperture area's measurement. Thereby, the method accurately corrects a coloration condition in consideration of a distribution influence of each aperture area of a black matrix, and does not have irregularity.
