PURPOSE: Cis-substituted aminocyclopropane derivatives are provided which have a wide antibacterial activity, especially strong antibacterial activities against gram-positive bacteria, particularly against quinolone-resistant bacteria, and capable of exhibiting good safety and actions in bodies. CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I {each of R1, R2 are independently H, 1-6C alkyl; (n) is an integer of 1-3; Q is a group of formula II £R3 is a 1-6C alkyl, a 2-6C alkenyl, etc.; R4 is H, a 1-6C alkylthio; R5 is H, amino, hydroxyl group, etc.; X1 is halogen or H; A is N atom, a group of formula III (X2 is H, amino, a halogen, etc.); Y is H, phenyl, acetoxymethyl, etc.|, but the two substituents existing on the cyclopropane ring are placed in a is-configuration}, its salt and their hydrates are described. The compound of formula I can be produced by various kinds of methods. Thereby, the compound of formula I can be used as a medicine for human bodies, animals and fishes, and further as an agricultural chemical and a food preservative.
