PURPOSE: Compositions are provided which improve skin resilience and/or prevent or treat the change in skin and exoskeleton attendant on aging. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic compositions are characterized by containing the following components of: at least one botanical hormones selected from phytosterols and ethoxylation derivatives thereof, pentacyclic triterpenes, isoflavone, isoflavone glucoside, coumetstanes and saponosides; at least one excipients permitted for cosmetic; and at least one retinoids selected from retinols, ester thereof and retinaldehyde. The combinations of botanical hormones and retionoids increase the content of TIMP-1 inhibitor so that it is possible for the retinoids to be more active in opposition against the destruction of extra cellular matrix. |
