PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove the cap of a box, a connecting tool connected to a hose or a pipe, a pipe joint or the like, and to conversely connect the same by caulking or the like. SOLUTION: This tool has a main body part 1, a first handle 2 integrally extended from this main body part 1, and a second handle 3 fixed to the main body part 1 so as to slide. The tool is further provided with a two-legged fixed attaching member 4 having branch arms 4a and 4a protruded to the tip side and fixed to the main body part 1, a two-legged movable attaching member 5 provided in the main body part 1 so as to be moved close to/away from the fixed attaching member and having branch arms 5a and 5a protruded to the tip side. The tool is provided with first inserting plates 6 and 6 attached to the branch arm parts 4a of the fixed attaching member 4 such that a relative gap is freely adjusted, and second inserting plates 7 and 7 attached to the branch arm parts 5a of the movable attaching member 5 such that a relative gap is freely adjusted. A swinging straight reciprocation converting mechanism E is provided to convert the swinging motion of the second handle 3 into the straight reciprocating motion of the movable attaching part 5 so as to bring the second inserting plates 7 and 7 close to/away from the first inserting plates 6 and 6.
