PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin, using an ester of lactic acid and a lower alcohol as the solvent, which does not affect the liver or kidney and causes no toxicity-related problem in a human body. SOLUTION: This resin is obtained using an ester of lactic acid and a 1-6C alcohol as the solvent. Quantity of the solvent to be used is 25 to 50 wt.%, based on the stock monomer, preferably 30 to 45 wt.%, more preferably 35 to 40 wt.%. The polymerization conditions are 50 to 100 deg.C and 4 to 8 h, preferably 60 to 100 deg.C and 5 to 7 h.
