PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly economical and industrially advantageous method for producing dimethylamino ethanol in extremely high yield without using any solvent as the case with conventional techniques, also without circulating the reaction product liquor to the reactor, and with a compact reaction equipment as well. SOLUTION: This method for continuously producing the subject dimethylamino ethanol comprises continuously feeding a tank-type flow-through reactor with dimethylamine and ethylene oxide in the absence of any solvent in the molar ratio: dimethylamine/ethylene oxide of 1-5 at a reaction temperature of 90-170 deg.C.
