PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound usable as a pigment capable of manifesting good dispersibility and useful as a pigment for a plastic material, a melt, a spinning dope, a coating material, a positive type-negative type UV resist, a coating liquid, a screen printing ink, etc. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [R1 is H, a 1-3C alkyl, a halogen, a 1-3C halogenated alkyl or a 1-3C alkoxy; R2 is an aromatic hydrocarbon in which a heterocyclic ring having imino group as a ring constituent bond is condensed), e.g. a compound represented by formula II. The compound represented by formula I can be synthesized by reacting, e.g. a 4,4'- diaminobiphenyl compound with a ketene dimer under alkaline conditions, reacting the resultant acetamidated derivative of the 4,4'-diaminobiphenyl compound with an aromatic primary amine compound in which an imino group- containing heterocyclic ring group is condensed in the presence of nitrous acid. |
