PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow double-sided simultaneous display in a simple structure and thin a device by arranging electric field luminescent material layers on both sides of a plate-shaped internal electrode and arranging a transparent electrode on the front surface of each electric field luminescent material layer. SOLUTION: Electric field luminescent material layers 2 for emitting light by an electric field are arranged on both sides of a very-thin-layered internal electrode 1 comprising metals such as Au and Al. A transparent electrode 3 is arranged on an external front surface of the electric field luminescent material layers 2. Material constituting the transparent electrode 3 preferably has high transparency and low resistivity, and material formed by adjusting mixing ratio of IN2O3 and SnO2 is used. The surface of this transparent electrode 3 is protected with a glass board or a transparent resin film. Since two electric field luminescent material layers 2 are arranged on the both side of the internal electrode 1, impression of an adequately-sized voltage through the internal electrode 1 and the transparent electrode 3 provides high electric field for two electric field luminescent material layers 2, and simultaneous image display can be performed on the both sides of a luminescent element.
