PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a built-in battery when a PHS data receiver awaiting a call signal is driven by the built-in battery. SOLUTION: A caller side intermittently transmits a call signal (refer to t2, t4, t6, etc.) and a called party awaits the call signal at a rate of once for each time the caller side sends the call signal for a plurality of number of times (refer to t1, t11). Number of times per unit time when a PS module 20 at the called party is started to await the call signal is reduced more than that for a conventional system. The power consumption is reduced by that amount. Thus, when the called party is driven by power from a built-in battery, the power consumption of the built-in battery is reduced, and the maintainability of the entire system is enhanced. |
