PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image rich in gradation reproducibility where tone jump is suppressed by generating test batch image data consisting of a combination of a recording density and a recording area rate, selecting once a prescribed number, and using a prescribed number of the test batch image data selected secondary with the density of the primarily selected data and their density dispersion and using the density of the secondarily selected data so as to generated an image density conversion table. SOLUTION: First test batch image data are generated by a combination of a recording density in density modulation and a recording area rate in area modulation. A prescribed number of test batch image data is primarily selected among all the generated test batch image data and a prescribed number of the test batch image data are secondary selected by using the density of the test batch image data and the density dispersion. A conversion table is generated by using the test batch image data selected secondary and the density of each test batch. A conversion section 18 of a processing section 14 of a printer 10 based on the conversion table converts the processed image data into a combination of a recording pattern and each dot recording density. |
