PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disappearance of existing data that is caused by a RMW (read modify write) in a data write processing mode by arranging at least data to be stored in a recording medium or data management information necessary for managing data via the recording medium on the recording medium in every data block unit and writing the data in every data block. SOLUTION: In a file system 103 of a host device 100, the arrangement of data management information and data are performed and written in every ECC block. As a result, a partial writing of an ECC block or inter-ECC block writing is never caused and a medium drive 200 produces no RMW in a data write mode. Thus, it is possible to prevent the loss of data caused by a writing error in an RMW mode and also to prevent the deterioration of performance such as the data transfer speed due to increase of the rotation waiting frequency. In such a constitution, the data writing reliability is improved. |
