PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give an operator a force feeling as the operator operates an operation member by sinking a resistance member coupled with the operation member in magnetic liquid. SOLUTION: As the operation member 3 is tilted, an input detection part 4 detects its direction and angle and sends the results to a control part to perform suitable control according to the results. Namely, when the operation member 3 is tilted, simulation matching the tilt direction and angle is performed and a magnetic field is produced by energizing on proper coils 8, 8... so that the resistance corresponding to the operation will be given to the operation member 3. Consequently, the viscosity of the magnetic liquid 6 is varied partially or entirely to give a specific force feeling to the hand of the operator gripping the operation member 3. For example, when this device is used as the steering device of a flight simulator, feelings of G accompanying the turning, ascending, and descending of an airplane can be presented to the operator through the operation member 3, so that the operator can have a more real steering feeling. |
