<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a building nearly invisible by showing a building for example by a simple frame display, in a navigation device equipped with a three- dimensional display function of buildings, as a measure to deal with anxiety of a driver, since he/she is not in a position to see in advance the state of the road after turning to the left or right if a three-dimensionally displayed building appears left or right on the nearer side of an intersection before turning. SOLUTION: In displaying buildings three-dimensionally (S1), the device discriminates if a map on the screen shows an intersection where a left or right turn is expected (S2); if it does, the device further discriminates whether a three-dimensionally displayed building exists on the nearer turning side of such intersection (S3); if the building exists, it is displayed three-dimensionally in a frame, with the inside colored translucently in red, for example (S4), and other building are provided with normal three-dimensional display or a simple wire-frame display so as to be distinguished from the building in question (S5).</p> |
