PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change or correct contents of each area in real time and to enable a user to further change grouping of a display area by adjusting the sensitivity of an attribute included in this scanning area. SOLUTION: This system 100 handles area information generated by a scanner 11 and is equipped with a document analysis software component 17 and a user interface 13 for communicating this document analysis software component 17. Then, it enables a scanner user to handle information on a specified area of a scanned image and to scan this area itself. That is, an attribute is allocated to this area by the document analysis software component 17, and this area is grouped in accordance with a predetermined instruction. The sensitivity of each area to be scanned and grouping of this area are operated, by using the user interface 13 which makes contact with the document analysis software component 17.
