PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a backlog of video data by throwing away all other video information that is not required to reproduce a newest video image. SOLUTION: When a buffer 310 includes a video key frame being a backlog, a processor 330 allows a video decoder 314 to decode a newest key frame in a sequence of the backlog and to decode a key frame of other frames at the back of the sequence in the buffer 310. Then the processor 330 commands the video decoder 314 to decode only frames with highest sequence number in a video reproduction buffer 318. Finally the processor 330 commands a video player 820 to reproduce the frames decoded newest, resulting that only the frame being a backlog required for decoding the frames newest is decoded and only the frames decoded newest are reproduced and frames of other backlogs are effectively thrown away.
