PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain prescribed control even when plural application windows are mutually overlapped by displaying a control means in a help window on a display device and automatically executing a selected task. SOLUTION: If a user for a measuring instrument 300 accesses on-line help when an application window 330 is active, a help window 340 is displayed on a display device 320. When the application window 330 is sufficiently large, the help window 340 is overlapped to the window 330. The window 340 displays also application control related to provided help. When the user for the intrument 300 selects the application control, the instrument 300 automatically executes a related task.
