PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a display device to perform the display of a high resolution based on print data and to perform the display of a low resolution based on monitor data by a high speed rewriting. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with a display part 222 of a matrix structure having a resolution made to correspond to the resolution of first image data which are to be inputted, first driving means 208 to 210, 212, 217 to 219, 220 and 221 driving the display part based on the first image data, second driving means 204 to 207, 212, 217 to 210, 220 and 221 which drive the display part based on second data whose resulution is lower than that of the first image data which are to be inputted and drive changeover means 208, 211, 213 to 215 changing over the drive by the first driving means and the drive by the second driving means in accordance with the inputting of the first image data or the second image data or in accordance with an instruction to be given and the second driving means expands data of respective horizontal direction lines of the second image data in the horizontal direction by making the data correspond to the horizontal direction resolution of the display part to supply them to the display device and also drive the display part by selecting common lines in the unit of the number of lines made to correspond to this magnifying power.
