PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of an image forming body, to perform satisfactory transfer both in color-image formation and monochrome-image formation, and to stably carry a transfer material by disposing a pre-transfer electrification means, which electrifies the image forming body and a transfer material, into a V-shaped empty space made upstream in the direction of the rotation of the belt-like transfer body from the transfer area of a transfer means. SOLUTION: A pre-transfer electrifier 11A is disposed in a V-shaped empty space made upstream in the direction of the rotation of a carrying belt 14a from a transfer area T, and electrifies both a photoreceptor drum 10 and recording paper P. Color toner images stuck to the peripheral face of the photoreceptor drum 10 are re-electrified by the pre-transfer electrifier 11A and then, in a contact between the carrying belt 14a and it, they are successively transferred onto the recording paper P, carried by the carrying belt 14a in close contact with it, by the application of a bias voltage opposite in polarity to the toner to the transfer roller 14C. In this case, for satisfactory transfer, exposure by a simultaneous transfer and exposure unit 12A being a simultaneous transfer and exposure means is carried out.
