PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is miniaturized and capable of suppressing lowering of display quality caused by the heat generation at the back light. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display panel 15 of the liquid crystal display device, a scanning side substrate 9 and signal side substrate 10 are oppositely arranged, and a display area 13 is constituted by forming a transparent electrode 11 on the signal side substrate 10 and forming a transparent electrode 12 on the scanning side substrate 9. Furthermore, the transparent electrodes 11 and 12 are extended up to a seal part 14 in order to form an extension electrode pattern 17. The wiring resistance is gradually increased in the range from the extension electrode pattern 17 (B1) close to B part to the extension electrode pattern 17 (A1) close to A part, in the extension electrode pattern 17.
