PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a track jump controller capable of track-jumping with accuracy and high speed irrespective of a state of an optical disk such as warpage and wobbling of surface, and a structure of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: Receiving an instruction from a control part 14, a kick/brake pulse generating part 16 generates a kick pulse and a brake pulse necessary for track-jumping. If a signal level from the kick/brake pulse generating part 16 is expressed as Vtk, the level of the brake pulse is changed from -Vtk to a tracking error signal or a level -k.Vtk (k is less than 1) smaller than -Vtk halfway depending on the time.
