LAMINATED PHASE DIFFERENCE PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated phase difference plate to be used, for example, for a reflection type liquid crystal display device which is bright with high contrast without using a polarizing plate. SOLUTION: This laminated phase difference plate is produced by laminating a normal polypropylene film and a polycarbonate film having larger refractive index nz in the thickness direction. In this method, the axis of propagation phase of the polypropylene film is aligned perpendicular to the axis of propagation phase of the polycarbonate film, and the refractive index nz2 of the polycarbonate film in the thickness direction is controlled to be larger than the refractive index np2 in the slow phase axial direction.
