<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving transmissivity and realizing the same action as that of the lateral electric field type liquid crystal display device by forming electrodes of a counter side substrate and thin film transistor side substrate using a transparent metal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a thin film transistor side substrate 7, an counter side substrate 9 opposing to the thin film transistor side substrate 7, a liquid crystal 17 having negative dielectric anisotropy which is held between the counter side substrate 9 and the thin film transistor side substrate 7, a transparent electroconductive electrode formed on an counter surface 9a, facing to the thin film transistor side substrate 7, of the counter side substrate 9, and pixel electrodes 6 and an inter-layer insulating film 8, in which slits are provided at the positions corresponding to the pixel electrode 6 parts, are formed on an counter surface 7a, facing to the counter side substrate 9, of the thin film transistor side substrate 7.</p> |
