PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the security image recording and reproducing device that records an image only when a motion is detected and reproduces a video image for a long time without waste by stopping the recording in other cases. SOLUTION: A digital signal processor DSP 6 compares an image of a current frame stored in frame memories 3, 4 with an image of one preceding frame within a target area. When any motion is detected, a moving picture is recorded in a hard disk 11, and when no motion is detected, the recording is stopped. In the case of reproduction, when a recording flag denoting the presence of the recording is not reset, the moving picture in the hard disk 11 is reproduced, and when the recording flag is reset, a still picture in a stop state is reproduced till a timer reaches a recording stop period. |
