PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon heater element formed by inserting a heater element made of a carbon material into a transparent tube transmitting the near infrared rays with the wavelength of 1μm or above, heat rays or far infrared rays and suitable as a heater used for a hosehold cooking apparatus, as heating unit, and a fixing unit of a copier or a business machine. SOLUTION: A carbon material which is the highest far infrared ray radiating material is used as heater element 2, and the heater element 2 is inserted into a transparent tube 1 transmitting the near infrared rays with the wavelength of 1μm or above, heat rays or far infrared rays to form a carbon heater element suitable as a heater used for a hosehold cooking apparatus, a heating unit, and a fixing unit of a copier or a business machine.
