The carton has a base part (20) and a cover part (30) which are formed by folding from blank pieces. The parts have two assemblies of three side walls (21,23,25) which form a trihedral defining a corner of the final carton through two hinge lines (43,46). The joining side walls of the trihedral have extension pieces (65-95,67-97) that are separated by a cut line (46,45) which have a series of preferential fold lines corresponding to the dimensional variation so as to form a flap (83) that partially forms a fourth side wall of the final box.
