PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the memory capacity is further reduced, the system is simplified, the number of parts is reduced and the cost is also reduced by using a time division driving method. SOLUTION: In the active matrix system liquid crystal display device, which uses a time division driving method, while noticing that each shift register 31 of drivers IC 12-1 to 12-k has a function to act as a memory with a capacity equivalent to one line. Thus, R data among inputted display data, for example, are directly supplied to the driver IC 12-1 by bypassing a memory 36 by switching switches 37 and stored in each shift register 31 of the drivers IC 12-1 to 12-k.
