PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which permits the production of a reflection type color liquid crystal display device having high lightness and excellent in color character by concaving the surface of a reflecting layer or a reflecting electrode layer on the colored layer side. SOLUTION: The color filter 1 has a reflecting layer 3, a colored layer 5 and a common transparent electrode layer 6 successively laminated on the substrate 2. The colored layer 5 consists of a red colored pattern 5R, a green colored pattern 5G and a blue colored pattern 5B. The surface 3a of the reflecting layer 3 on the colored layer 5 side has curved concavities in regions corresponding to the colored patterns 5R, 5G, 5B. In the color filter 1, light made incident on the reflecting layer 3 at various angles is reflected by the concave reflecting layer 3 so that it passes through the same colored pattern. |
