<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the moving picture coder/decoder that can transmit a moving picture with high image quality whose state is close to a non- compression state. SOLUTION: A moving picture signal with picture time length such as 10 sec to 10 min is received repetitively from an original picture storage section 103 for the plural number of times, and usual compression coding is applied to the moving picture signal of a prescribed time length received at first. Then prediction coding is applied to the moving picture signal of the prescribed time length received at 2nd and succeeding times by using a preceding decoded picture by a prescribed time, that is, a preceding decoded image corresponding to a same input image stored in a local decoding image storage section 116 as a prediction reference picture. The coding error is being decreased as the number of times of coding is repeated. Thus, a moving picture with high image quality whose state is close to a non-compression sate is transmitted with a simple configuration. Furthermore, a picture with image quality of plural steps from usual image quality to high image quality close to non-compression.</p> |
