PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a balanced state of positive ion output and negative ion output by comparing a balance reference value stored in a memory with a balance measured value measured with an ion balance sensor at a position adjacent to a radiation source. SOLUTION: A microcontroller 44 holds a reference ion output current value from a system controller 28 and compares the value with a measured value read from an A/D converter 60.
