摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency adjusting method for a piezoelectric element which adjusts the frequency of a piezoelectric element without deteriorating the electric characteristic. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 10 includes a substrate l2 vibrating in the longitudinal direction and external electrodes 20 and 22 formed on opposite faces to the substrate 12. The substrate 12 consists of an active part 24 and inactive parts 26. Then, the frequency of the element 10 is adjusted by such a manner that the inactive parts 26 are irradiated with laser beams to eliminate a part of the inactive parts 26. The parts 26 can be formed at both end parts of the substrate 12 and also at the central part of the substrate 12.
