PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor whose drive force is made large. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic motor is provided with a piezoelectric element 10, in which a piezoelectric vibrator 11 as a bending vibration source and a piezlelectric vibrator 12 as an expanding vibration source are laminated integrally. The piezoelectric vibrator 11 is connected to an AC power supply 6 via a switch 17a and a switch 17b. In the piezoelectric vibrator 11, polarization regions 11a, 11d which are polarized to be of an identical polarity and polarization regions 11b, 11c which are polarized to have polarities opposite to that of the polarization regions 11a, 11d are arranged alternately. The piezoelectric element 12 is provided with polarization regions 12a which are polarized to be of identical polarity. When a drive signal is input to the piezoelectric element 10 from the AC power supply 6, oval vibration is generated at the end face of the piezoelectric element 10, and a moving body which comes into contact with the end face is moved. When the switches 17a, 17b are changed over, the vibrating direction of the oval vibration is removed, since the moving direction of the moving body is reversed. |
