PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material improved in fog without deteriorating storage stability and spectrally sensitized to high sensitivity by incorporating at least one kind of specified methine dyes. SOLUTION: This silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one of a methine dyes represented by formulae I and II in which Z1 is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered N- containing hetero ring together with an N atom, each of Z2 and Z3 is a non-metallic atomic group necessary to form a condensed carbon ring or hetero rings, Q is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an acid nucleus, each of Y1 and Y2 is 0 or S atom or the like, each of M1 and M2 is a pair ion for neutralizing a charge in the molecule, each of n1 and n2 is the number of >=0 necessary to neutralize the charge, each of L1-L5 is methine group or a substituted methine group, (s) is 0 or 1. (t) is an integer of 0-3 and each of A1 and A2 is an aliphatic group or the like.
