<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing method in which recording is performed again in a plurality of unnecessary discontinuous recording areas of a recording medium recorded with a plurality of pieces of information by utilizing high speed heading and two recording media (cassettes) effectively. SOLUTION: In order to perform high speed access in an image data recorder/reproduce comprising two sets of recording medium and drive mechanism, introduction part of an image data is recorded on one recording medium and following image data is recorded on the other recording medium. In such a digital information recording/reproducing method, an image data management file recording the title of all recorded image data and the positional information recorded respective image data on both recording media is recorded on one recording medium. When a recorded image data becomes unnecessary and recording is performed again in the remaining discontinuous area, the image data is recorded on one recording medium when next recordable area is accessed in order to perform continuous recording across a preserved area and a recording position is written once in the image data management file so that recording can be performed again while remaining a necessary image data.</p> |
