PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing which is easily manufactured and by which the dimension accuracy of an optical part positioning part is easily enhanced. SOLUTION: The housing 60 made of metal where optical parts constituting an optical system are housed and arranged possesses the optical part positioning part 76 positioning the optical parts. The optical part positioning part 76 is formed by a thixotropy forming method using a metallic material. It is provided with a first supporting part 761 supporting the light incident surface and the light emitting surface of the optical part, and an extracted-in-advance part 761A formed by inserting a nesting into a forming mold at a part where it abuts on the first supporting part 761 of a side plate 73. The part 761A extracted in advance is formed before opening the upper and lower mold of the forming mold at forming time, so that the biting of the optical part positioning part 76 to the mold is evaded and the dimension accuracy of the optical part positioning part 76 is enhanced.
