<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a client that an operation state of an image reader connected to a network is released. SOLUTION: A server which controls an image reader 1B detects whether or not the image reader 1B is available, upon the receipt of a request of using the image reader 1B from a client side computer via a network, a communication port 5, and a communication control section 4. The server keeps the information included in the request, when it is not available. When the image reader 1B is available, the server informs the client computer of the availability in response to the stored information.</p> |
