PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination control system capable of delicately controlling on/off of a luminaire and realizing the system at a low cost by utilizing PHS inter-terminal communication. SOLUTION: Illumination control information is transmitted to a PHS terminal equivalent device 3 from a PHS terminal 4 via PHS inter-terminal communication, the PHS terminal equivalent device 3 outputs the illumination control information to a main controller 2, the main controller 2 decodes the illumination control information and outputs an instruction to an illumination switch controller 1 according to the information, and the illumination switch controller 1 turns on/off a luminaire 13 based on the instruction. The illumination switch controller 1 outputs the illumination state to the main controller 2, the main controller 2 records the state and reports it to the PHS terminal 4 via the PHS terminal equivalent device 3 in this illumination control system.
