PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device, such as a radio communication device that can easily be improved without opening the device or making a hole to an enclosure of the device, when some improvements in the function of the communication device is required. SOLUTION: The inside of an enclosure is provided with a means (main CPU) 13 that selects a normal operation mode or a test operation mode, a cable connects to an existing terminal section 11, that is exposed externally and an interface means 12, is interposed between a protocol LSI section 14 and the external terminal section 11, so as to update contents of a program stored in an external ROM section 15. Thus, operation for improving the device can be conducted easily, without having to open the device or making a hole inside the enclosure of the device. |
