PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of obtaining an image satisfactory in thin-line reproducibility and gradation and free of image disturbance and also capable of restraining the deterioration of a latent-image carrier due to scratch, wear, etc., on the surface of the latent-image carrier having an organic photoreceptive layer. SOLUTION: In an image forming method having a latent-image formation process for forming an electrostatic latent image on a latent-image carrier, a developer-layer formation process for forming a developer layer on the surface of a developer carrier disposed oppositely to the latent-image carrier, a development process for developing the electrostatic latent image on the latent-image carrier with toner in the developer layer, thereby forming a toner image and a transfer process for transferring the toner image onto a transfer material, the latent-image carrier is provided on the surface of a conductive supporting body with an organic photoreceptive layer, the toner is composed of color particles containing at least a binding resin and a coloring agent, the volume average particle diameter of the coloring particles is 2.0-5.0 μm, the number of the coloring particles of smaller than or equal to 1.0 μm is 20% or less, the number of coloring particles of larger than 5.0 μm is 10% or less and the coloring agent is pigment particles. |
