PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode for forming a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery having an improved discharge capacity per volume and an improved cycle characteristic and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A powder mixture 2 mixed with carbon powder, fluororesin powder and a binder into hydrogen storage alloy powder and a nonporous or porous plate-like base material 3 made of a metal are fed between two rolls 1 to obtain a negative electrode sheet 4 fixed with the powder mixture 2 on both faces of the base material 3 by the powder rolling method. A negative electrode having the porosity 15% or below, preferably 10% or below, of the powder mixture and having a high filling factor of an active material can be manufactured. |
