PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system which can suppress the influence of wavelength dispersion of a light signal at a low cost without attenuating the power of the light signal. SOLUTION: This system has an optical fiber 2, a plurality of optical transmission devices 31, 32 and 33 that outputs light signals generated by modulating the light output the light source to the optical fiber 2 according to transmit signals of two channels which have frequencies of tertiary distortion and frequency intervals within a range that is free from the effect of the tertiary distortion developed by transmit signals of two channels of other optical transmission devices 31, 32 and 33 and also have mutually different modulation frequencies, and an optical receiving device 4 which receives light signals sent from the optical transmission devices 31, 32 and 33 through the optical fiber 2.
