PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Nb3 Al superconducting conductor having a stable and high critical-current density characteristic, and a manufacturing method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The thickness of a peripheral part matrix 14 in a superconducting conductor is set <=0.2 mm, the relationship between the cross-section area A of the peripheral part matrix 14 and the cross-section area B of the superconducting conductor is set A/(B-A) >=0.01, the relationship between the total cross-section area C of a portion (superconducting part) corresponding to a composite body 1 and the cross-section area B of the superconducting conductor is set (B-C)/C <=1.3, and the relation between the cross-section area D of the center material matrix 13 and the cross-section area B of the superconducting conductor is set D/(B-D) <=0.55. By proceeding with the manufacture so as to realize the respective settings, an Nb3 Al superconducting conductor having a high critical-current density characteristic is obtained.
