PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive layer that excels in transparency and electrical conductivity. SOLUTION: This recording medium is constituted such that a conductive layer is provided on one side of a nonmagnetic supporting body and that a transparent magnetic recording layer is provided on the conductive layer. In this case, an antistatic agent for the conductive layer is used as acicular antistatic additives, whose orientation is in the direction within±25 deg. to the longitudinal direction of the nonmagnetic supporting body, in the cross section parallel to such direction and perpendicular to the surface of the supporting body, and whose ratio is set at 60% or above.
